England

The Ashes is international cricket's oldest and most celebrated rivalry. Following Australia's 5-0 whitewash in the 2006-07 series, the 2009 series is set to be one of the most ferociously contested in recent history. England will be desperate to erase the embarrassment and disappointment of 2006-07 and win back the coveted Ashes trophy on home soil.

The series will consist of five test matches played at The Oval and Lord's in London, Headingley in Leeds, Edgbaston in Birmingham and Sophia Gardens in Cardiff, which will be hosting its first ever test match.
