Melbourne Cup Day

The Melbourne Cup (Tuesday 4 November) is Australia's most prestigious horse race. Billed as The race that stops a nation, it is for three-year-olds and over, and covers a distance of 3200 metres. The event is held on the first Tuesday in November by the Victoria Racing Club, on the Flemington Racecourse in Melbourne. It is generally regarded as the most prestigious "two-mile" handicap in the world.

Victoria Derby (Saturday 1 November)

Traditionally a day for racing purists, the Victoria Derby Day is considered one of the most prestigious days in the Australian racing calendar.

While the major focus of the day is the stars of the turf, in recent years the annual 'Fashions on the Field' celebrations have shared the limelight. 'Derby Day' has become 'Mens day' in the Fashion Stakes, and every year increasing numbers of fashionable gentlemen competing for prizes and a spot in the social columns. Traditionally Black & White are worn on this day. In 2006 a crowd of over 129,000 broke the Flemington crowd record previously held by Melbourne Cup day 2003.

The Melbourne Cup Carnival also incorporates the Crown Oaks Day (Thursday 6 November) and Emirates Stakes Day (Saturday 8 November) and we are happy to offer these as extensions if required.

The Undercroft is set behind glass, located under the Hill Stand. Offering excellent views of the course and winning post this stand is great for those not wanting to take a risk with Melbourne’s unpredictable weather.

Hill Stand

The Hill Stand is the highest standard of seating available to the general public to purchase. This under covered stand offers the best view of the course and winning post ensuring you do not miss a second of racing action!

Carbine Marquee

Located on the picturesque banks of the Maribyrnong River, this marquee is creatively themed and decorated and has a vibrant atmosphere allowing racegoers to enjoy all aspects of the Melbourne Cup Carnival as well as explore the famous Flemington racecourse.

Payment Options

Our Booking procedure is to take a 25% deposit (40% if booking hospitality), unless you wanted to pay in full immediately. On receiving this payment, we would send you a receipt of your payment with, if applicable, an invoice for your full payment attached.

We accept credit cards, cheque and cash. When paying by credit card there is a 2.5% credit charge.
